Signatures let you collect a hand-drawn signature on your device after completing a transaction. Whether a signature is required depends on which signature settings are enabled for your site.
| Action | Where |
|---|---|
| Capture signature after a transaction | Prompted automatically when enabled |
| Test the signature pad | Settings > Test Signature |
When a signature is required, the Signature Form dialog opens automatically. The dialog title shows the transaction type, such as Receive Package Signature or Deliver Package Signature, and a detail line identifies the specific transaction or batch.
Draw your signature on the canvas using your finger or a stylus. When finished, tap Submit Signature. If you tap Submit Signature without drawing anything, the app prompts: You must provide a Signature!
There is no dedicated Cancel button. Close the dialog only after submitting a signature or if no signature is needed.
Signature prompts appear after a successful transaction when the matching signature setting is enabled. Examples of workflows that can trigger a signature prompt include:
The full set of signature-enabled workflows varies by configuration. Your administrator controls which operations require a signature.
Test Signature is available in the mobile Settings screen. Tapping it opens the Signature Form dialog in a test context so you can verify that touch input and the signature canvas are working correctly.
Whether the pad opens depends on your site’s signature configuration. If the signature testing setting is not enabled, tapping Test Signature will not open the pad. Test signatures are not stored as production records.
If your device is offline when a transaction is submitted, the transaction is saved to an on-device queue. When connectivity is restored and the queue drains, any queued transactions that required a signature will trigger a single Offline Queue signature prompt. The detail area shows how many offline transactions are being signed.
