Location barcodes use three related surfaces:
- Barcode Samples to review label formats, preview them, and set the default location label.
- Location Utilities to print location labels and generate numbered location ranges.
- Import/Export Interface to bulk import new locations from a file.
Barcode Samples
Access: Framework -> Barcode Samples
Use Label Type = Location to focus on location labels.
When you switch to the Location filter, the page shows the live location label cards that are currently configured. In the validated environment, those labels were:
- 3x1 Location Label
- 4x1 Location Label
- 2.25x1.25 Location Label
- 5x3 Location Label
- 2x4 Location Label
The current default location label is highlighted in green.
Common tasks in Barcode Samples
Set the default location label
- Open Barcode Samples.
- Set Label Type to Location.
- Review the label cards.
- Click the checkmark button on the label you want to make the default.
Preview a location label
- Open Barcode Samples.
- Set Label Type to Location.
- Click the barcode preview button on a label card.
The preview opens in a popup. If the sample record used for the preview does not return matching data, the popup can show No Records Found for this Label.
Location Utilities
Access: Inventory -> Location Utilities
This page has two separate sections.
Print Labels
The Print Labels section includes:
- A warehouse selector.
- A text box for Print Location Labels.
- A Print Location Labels button.
Enter a location prefix, or enter All to print labels for every location in the selected warehouse.
Generate Locations
If you have permission to create or modify warehouse locations, the same page also shows Generate Locations.
That section includes:
- Location Name
- Beginning Location
- Ending Location
- Create Locations
Use it to create a numbered range of locations for the selected warehouse.
Bulk Import New Locations
Bulk file creation of locations does not happen in Barcode Samples or Location Utilities.
Use the Import/Export Interface instead:
- Open Utilities -> Import/Export Interface.
- In the General section, find Locations.
- Download the template InventoryPro_Locations.xlsx.
- Import the completed file.
After the locations exist, return to Location Utilities to print the labels you need.
Notes
- The warehouse selector on Barcode Samples is not part of the Location filter. It appears for Inventory labels, not Location labels.
- Barcode Samples and Location Utilities are different pages with different purposes.
- Bulk import is a separate workflow from printing and previewing labels.
