Single Sign-On (SSO)

Single Sign-On changes the Desktop login flow when an SSO method is enabled. What you see depends on which SSO method is active and whether the server can detect your identity.

Login Page Behavior

When SSO is not active, the login page shows the standard Username, Password, and Login fields.

When SSO is enabled, the page can also show one of these buttons:

  • Okta Login for Okta-based sign-in.
  • Retry when Active Directory or Smart Card sign-in is enabled but did not complete automatically.

Two runtime error messages are important:

  • SSO Logon failed, Please use standard login or contact support.
  • SSO credentials could not be detected, Please use standard login or contact support.

Link SSO Account is the page used to connect your current Inventory Pro user to a detected SSO identity. This applies to the non-Okta SSO link flow.

When the page is available, it shows the prompt:

Would you like to link your SSO Credentials to Inventory Pro?

The fields depend on the SSO method:

  • Active Directory: Domain Account
  • Smart Card or CAC: Certificate Subject/Info, Certificate Serial, and Certificate Issuer

The page buttons are:

  • Link
  • Skip

Click Link to store the detected SSO value for the current user. Click Skip to continue without linking.

If SSO is not enabled, or the server does not detect the required SSO credential, this page redirects away instead of showing a manual form.

Reset SSO

Reset SSO is a conditional admin action, not a normal login-page option.

It appears on the System User edit screen only when:

  • the current user is an administrator
  • Okta SSO is enabled

Use Reset SSO when an Okta-linked user needs the saved identity link cleared and re-established.

Notes

  • SSO visibility is controlled by application settings and by whether the server detects an SSO credential.
  • Okta Login, Retry, Link SSO Account, and Reset SSO do not all appear in the same environment.
  • If SSO is unavailable, users can fall back to the standard login page.
